We were commissioned by a private client to design a bespoke, single storey, contemporary house that provided a light and spacious internal environment nestled amongst the trees. The site posed various design/planning challenges primarily in relation to the mature pine trees that surround the site. Our design uses mini pile foundations in the areas close to tree roots and a raised seam zinc roof to avoid moss growing on the shaded roof. The mono pitched roof provides vaulted ceilings within the house and high-level glazing, allowing light to flood in.
